Prices of clothes, bags, shoes or even accessories sold there are much cheaper than any other places in Singapore. You can find watches as cheap as $5, bags and even clothes at $10 per piece! This certainly attracts teenagers, especially students, to shop there because of the cheap prices since they are not earning their own keeps. As for mature shoppers, they can go to bugis junction to shop instead since the items sold in Bugis street are mainly catered to teenagers. Items available there are branded stores such as Charles and Keith and Guess

However, because of the mass of people squeezing and fighting their way between the pathways to the shops, many people would avoid going there. But at the same time, some are just willing to squeeze with the crowd because they feel that it is worth it for purchasing those high fashion items that are charged at very cheap prices.

While shopping, if you are feeling hot, there are also drink stalls and snacks all well prepared for you to take a breather and cool down before you continue on shopping. There are also souvenirs sold there like merlion magnets, "I love Singapore" shirts just for tourist to buy and bring back to their country as a momento.

Bugis street has a potential of expanding the whole area and create a wider pathway for more people to shop without having to worry about squeezing with the crowd. In addition, some parts of Bugis street have yet to build air conditioners. With air conditions installed in these areas, I am sure more mature tourist would not mind going there to shop even with such a hot and humid weather.
Bugis Junction

Bugis Junction
Across Bugis Street, there is Bugis junction. The prices of things sold here are at a much higher price than Bugis street. More tourists, especially mature shoppers, would rather shop here because there is a much wider variety of food, clothes and other activities. Furthermore, the whole place is air conditioned and many brands are available there too.
Also, At Parco Bugis Junction, it is Singapore’s first glass-covered, air-conditioned shopping street. It is something that most tourists would enjoy because they get to feel the sunlight on their skin despite being in an air conditioned place, it certainly brings out the pleasure to shop even more.
However, Bugis street and Bugis junction should close at a later timing rather than closing at 10pm. since these two places are considered “nightlife in Singapore,” some may feel that they are only halfway done with their shopping.
Iluma

Iluma

Iluma is the most recent shopping place among the three. It is almost the same as Bugis Junction but things sold here are usually more expensive than Bugis Junction and Bugis street. It caters more to those who are interested in the arts as it is a place where performance or events are being held. However, it has cinema, restaurants or even KOI, thich is the famous bubble tea store. With these, Iluma can be seen as a place for family and fun! But at the same time, many things available in iluma can also be found in Bugis Junction or Bugis street.
Thus, people can get the same thing at a cheaper price in Bugis street or Bugis Junction. As a result, iluma is not often filled with a many people. Since more tourists are interested in shopping rather than the arts, I feel that iluma should open more shops that sell cheaper clothes, shoes, bags or accesories. This would certainly invite more tourist and locals to shop and enjoy their nightlife in iluma.
