Ever since the start of a radical overhaul of the Singapore's once timid nightlife scene in the late 2005, venues for both tourists and locals to start partying and dancing till late night has been increasing at an overwhelming number. When it comes in association with the phrase "Nightlife in Singapore", most locals cannot deny, that places like Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are in vogue, with noisy bars and restaurants overlooking the infamous Singapore River.

OUR BELOVED TEOHENG KTV!
Located in Katong Shopping Centre at Joo Chiat, the district whose rustic charm is emphasized by the availability of restaurants serving popular Peranakan food and local food i.e laksa and Nasi Lemak. Locating of the KTV should not pose as a problem, as one would just need to identify "a penguin with a graduation hat and holding on to a microphone" as the logo for the company.
Just a reminder for everyone: due to the increasing popularity of this KTV within young Singaporeans these days, it would be relatively difficult to get a room without any prior reservation made. Thus, do remember, it is a MUST to make reservations at least 2 days before, just to assure yourself with a room for enjoyment with your friends or family!

One particular thing to point out about the KTV, is the high level of cleanliness in each room. Employees from Teo Heng would ensure that all rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sprayed with anti-bacterial air-spray during the transition of customers for each room. Besides that, 2 disposable microphone covers are also given, which reduces the chance of transferring germs between users as well!
Despite the economic pricing for the room charges, the KTV is now using high technology computerized intelligent song request system, where selection has never been so easy; simply just with the use of your fingers, you can scroll and search within the impressive song library on the touchscreen monitor!

Anyway, our group had decided to head down towards the country's quintessential supper food after our Karaoke session, which is no other than the Rochor's Tauhuay a.k.a soybean pudding! Ask any locals for the best tauhuay in town, chances are you will hear ROCHOR. With more than one branch in Singapore, do take note, that only the branch located in Geylang is opened 24hours.
Past midnight and worried about the sky-high midnight charges for cab fares which would cost you a dear? Then make sure you hop onto a cab with 3 other friends, because with the cab fare being split evenly among the 4 of you, it's still gonna be under the genre of being on a BUDGET mode.
Rochor Original Beancurd
Beancurd, commonly known for Tauhuay for Hokkiens is what we normally would have it for breakfast for an average Singaporean.
What's next? With beancurd available at night and even 24 hours, beancurd is not just another item placed on the table every morning but a popular dessert for supper.
Is it really possible to find cheap and good food in Singapore? Some say no. But this will prove them wrong.
Introducing to you guys, Rochor Original Beancurd located at Geylang street.
Take a look at their menu! They do provide their customers with a wide range of varieties.
Silky, soft, sweet. These three words best describe the taste and texture of the Beancurd. Just S$1.20 and can get yourself a bowl of cold beancurd to cool yourself down. If you prefer to have it hot to warm your tummy, they have it too! If you have a sweet tooth, you might find it tasteless without the sugar syrup. But nevertheless, the beancurd is good for our skins and improve our complexion. So girls, what are you still waiting for?!

Next, the Soyabean milk they have in store is a must try. As the weather is always so warm in Singapore, the perfect choice for beverage would definitely be this! (They have it in warm too!) For toddlers, young children and even elderly especially, soyabean is the best beverage you can pick. Not only does it quench your thirst, it provides us with proteins and calcium as well! The price of this wonderful drink will only cost you S$1.00-S$1.30, depending of the size of the drink you ordered!
Other than that, here are the side-dishes which goes along with the Beancurd and Soyabean milk perfectly!
In my opinion, the crispy Fried dough sticks, also known as Youtiao in Chinese, is the best companion for the Soyabean milk and Beancurd!
Just need to follow these simple steps:
1. Tear the fried dough sticks into small pieces (approximately the length of your index finger)
2. Dip your fried dough sticks into the hot/cold (cold preferred) beancurd or soyabean milk.
3. Send it into your mouth!
The taste is simply heavenly! The combination of sweet & savoury taste definitely leaves you craving for more and more!
The best thing is, it costs than a dollar, at only S$0.90!
The Egg tarts are something you certainly cannot miss. The thin sweet sugar layer on top of it totally melts my heart, along with the custard soft golden yellow egg pudding and the fragrant of the crust. At just S$1.30, you can get to taste the yummy and delicious egg tarts in store!
By looking at the shape, i bet you would have guessed the name of this it. Yes, it is called the Butterfly Bun! As similar to the Fried dough sticks, you can dip the Butterfly Bun into the Soyabean milk or even the Beancurd's sugar syrup! Though it's deep fried, it does not give you the oily taste at all! With only S$0.90, this freshly-fried Butterfly Bun is yours!
Don't worry about not being able to withstand the warm&humid weather while consuming the Tauhuay in the shop which is completely in an outdoor style, because our thoughtful boss have had misty fans installed in the shop to help you stay cool while indulging yourself with their homemade Tauhuay!
